Brene Moseley of the ninth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team was named the Atlantic Coast Conference's Rookie of the Week the league announced Monday. It is the first weekly honor of her career.
The Terrapin freshman from Burtonsville, Md. averaged 20.0 points per game in the Terrapins' two wins last week. The rookie from Burtonsville, Md., dropped 26 on Towson Wednesday night, the most for a Maryland freshman since Kristi Toliver scored 28 vs. Utah in the Elite Eight in 2006. On the week, Moseley went 7-for-13 (.538) from outside the arc and dished out nine assists.
