ACC All-Conference Teams
GREENSBORO, N.C. -
Freshman Adreene Elliott has been named to the Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshman Team the league announced Wednesday. Elliott is the second Terrapin to be honored in as many years and is the 10th all-time. Sophomore Mary Cushman was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team last season.
Entering Maryland's match against Boston College on Wednesday, Elliott is fourth on the team with 226 kills and second with 92 blocks behind junior Caitlin Adams (106).
The Winston-Salem, N.C., native has played in all 31 matches in 2011 and recorded a career-high 17 kills against Virginia on Sept. 30, which is tied for the fourth highest single-game total this season. Elliott has tallied double-digit kills in six matches, and recorded at least eight kills in 16 matches.
Miami senior Lane Carico earned ACC Player of the Year honors and North Carolina freshman Cameron Van Noy earned ACC Freshman of the Year honors.
