#5 Maryland (13-0) at Florida State (8-6)

  • The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will open Atlantic Coast Conference play Monday with a 7 p.m. game at Florida State. The Terps will look to win their ACC opener for the sixth time under head coach Brenda Frese.

  • The Terps and the Seminoles will play at the Tucker Center in Tallahassee, Fla. Maryland will look for its 14th straight win. This is the Terrapins' best start since they opened the 2006-07 season with an 18-0 record.

  • Maryland went 9-5 in ACC play last season and finished fourth in the league. Florida State went 11-3 in league games last year and ended up second in the conference.

  • Maryland owns the all-time record over Florida State, 23-14, but the Seminoles have taken the last two meetings. Most recently, the Noles beat the Terps, 71-66 in Tallahassee on Feb. 20, 2011.

    Last Time Out

  • The Terrapins beat No. 19 Delaware, 85-76, Thursday night in front of 8,733 at Comcast Center in the Terrapin Classic championship game.

  • Three Terrapins finished in double-figures. Laurin Mincy scored a career-high 25, including 18 in the second half. Alyssa Thomas added 23 and Anjale Barrett scored 16. Thomas was named Tournament MVP, while Barrett and Mincy made the All-Tournament Team.

  • The Terps out rebounded the Blue Hens 39-30. Maryland has won the battle of the boards in all 13 games this season, and dating back to last year has out rebounded its opponents in 42 of the last 46 games.

    What's Next

    The Terrapins will return home on Friday, Jan. 6 for an 8:30 p.m. game vs. Georgia Tech (10-3). The Terps will be teaming with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Team Tyler Foundation at that game for Leukemia Awareness Night.
