• Maryland opens its 2010 season ranked No. 16 in the preseason NSCAA poll and #12 in the preseason poll by Soccer America. Roster Schedule Statistics Digital Media Guide

• The Terps will be led on offense by 2011 MAC Hermann Trophy watch list selection Jasmyne Spencer. The Bay Shore, N.Y., native tied for the team lead with 10 goals and was second on the team with 25 points last season en route to being named the program's first NSCAA All-American since 1996. Joining Spencer up top for the Terps will be fellow seniors Ashley Grove. Ayinde also had 10 goals in 2010 and led the team with 28 points. Grove was just behind with 24 points on nine goals and six assists. Other options up top will be junior Danielle Hubka, sophomore transfer Hayley Brock and freshman Cory Ryan.

• The midfield will be anchored by junior All-Southeast Region selection Domenica Hodak. Senior Amy O'Sullivan and junior Olivia Wagner also return and are expected to be solid contributors. The main addition to the midfield in 2011 will be the return of Becky Kaplan, who redshirted the 2010 season. Freshman Alex Doody could also see time in the midfield, as well as Hubka and Ryan.

• The Terps lost two of its back line to graduation, but head coach Lydia Hastings and junior Mallory Baker. Other defenders that will provide depth for the Terps will be freshman Shade Pratt, senior Kristen McAfee and junior Bailey Bodell.

• Senior Yewande Balogun returns for her fifth year as a Terp and is the clear-cut starter in goal. She will be backed-up by sophomore Shannon Zickler. Freshman Rachelle Beanlands is the third keeper, but could redshirt the season.

Roster Schedule 2010 Statistics

• Senior midfielder Shari Eckstrom is Minnesota's top returnee with seven goals and five assists for 19 points last season. Junior keeper Cat Parkhill has started every match of her collegiate career and has a career goals-against average of 0.74.

Head Coach Brian Pensky
Brian Pensky is in his seventh season as the head coach of the Maryland women's soccer program. After helping lead the Terrapin men's program to three-straight appearances in the College Cup, Pensky took over the women's soccer program prior to the 2005 season. He has steadily built the program back to prominence and took it to its first NCAA Tournament berth since 2004 last season. Pensky owns an overall head coaching record of 55-47-16 (.534).

Spencer Earns Preseason Honors
• Senior Jasmyne Spencer earned three major preseason honors heading into the 2011 season. Last season, Spencer became the first Terp in the program's history to be named to the MAC Hermann Trophy Preseason Watch List and once again she is among the 42 selections to the Watch List in 2011.

• She was also selected to the Soccer America preseason All-America list for the second-straight season and was named one of the top 20 upperclassmen in Division I by TopDrawerSoccer.com.

• Spencer is coming off a junior season that saw her selected to the All-ACC first team for the second consecutive season and became the first Terp to earn NSCAA All-America honors since 1996. She was also a repeat first team All-Southeast after tying for the team lead with 10 goals and finishing second on the squad with 25 points. Her two-year totals of 20 goals and 50 points are the highest two-year aggregate for a Terrapin since 1995-96.

Spencer Among Lowes Senior CLASS Award Candidates
• Senior Jasmyne Spencer is one of 30 women's soccer student-athletes selected as candidates for the 2011 Lowes Senior CLASS Award, which will be presented to the senior with notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition. Her "Player Card" can be viewed here.

• An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School®, the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.

• Each of the 30 candidate classes will be narrowed to 10 finalists midway through the regular season, and those 10 names will be placed on the official ballot. Ballots will be distributed through a nationwide voting system to media, coaches and fans, who will select one male candidate and one female candidate who best exemplify excellence in the four Cs of community, classroom, character and competition.

Ranked Terps
• Maryland was selected No. 6 in the preseason NSCAA rankings, which is the highest preseason ranking in the Terps' 25-year history. The Terrapins were then ranked No. 5 in the preseason Soccer America poll and checked in at No. 9 in the first TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 64 rankings.

Non-Conference Success
• Dating back to its 10-0 win over Mount St. Mary's in 2008, Maryland is unbeaten in its last 21 matches vs. non-ACC opponents. The Terps have outscored its non-conference opposition 64-13 in those 21 matches.

• The Terps recorded 20 straight wins over non-ACC foes before tying Georgetown, 1-1, in second round of the NCAA tournament in 2010.

100 And Counting At Ludwig Field
• The Terps won their 100th match at Ludwig Field with a 6-0 victory over Iona on Aug. 20, 2010. Since its opening in 1995, Ludwig Field has proved to be a tremendous home-field advantage for the Terps women's soccer team. All-time Maryland is 109-46-18 (.682) at Ludwig Field.

• Through the seasons, the Terps have had a knack for shutting teams out at Ludwig Field. Maryland has won 71 of its 109 victories (65.1%) at Ludwig Field via shutout. Add in the nine 0-0 ties the Terps have had at Ludwig Field and it totals 80 times that Maryland has shutout its opponent in 173 games (46.2%).
