GREENSBORO, N.C. - Freshman Adreene Elliott received Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honors the conference announced Monday. Elliott helped the Terps to two straight-set ACC victories last week against Boston College and NC State. The win over NC State snapped a school record 13-match win streak by the Wolfpack.

In the three matches, Elliott tallied 24 kills with only four errors to finish with a .435 hitting percentage, and added eight blocks. The Winston-Salem native established a career high .615 hitting percentage against the Tar Heels.

Elliott has now recorded eight kills in four consecutive matches. On the season, Elliott has 103 kills which is fifth on the team, and has recorded 34 blocks which ranks second.

This is the second time this season a Terrapin has received ACC Freshman of the Week. Ashleigh Crutcher received the award following her performance at the Courtyard by Marriott Maryland Invitational.

The Terps are back in action Friday at 7 p.m. when the Virginia Cavaliers come to Comcast Pavilion.
