COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Freshman Ashleigh Crutcher received Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman of the Week honors the conference announced Monday. Crutcher helped Maryland defeat VCU, Quinnipiac and Xavier, as the Terps captured the Courtyard by Marriott Maryland Invitational title over the weekend.

Named tournament MVP, Crutcher led the invitational in kills (33) and averaged 3.67 kills per set as the Terps did not drop a set in the three matches. Against VCU, Crutcher established a career high in kills (13) and attack percentage (.667).

Crutcher leads the Terps in kills (66) and is second in digs (60) through six matches.

The Terrapins next take the court Friday against Yale at Comcast Pavilion as part of the Spring Hill Suites at Arundel Mills Invitational.
