  • The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team will join with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and the Team Tyler Foundation for Leukemia Awareness Night, which will be held Friday at the Terps' game vs. Georgia Tech.

  • The Terrapins (14-0, 1-0 ACC) and the Yellow Jackets (11-3, 1-0) will tip at 8:30 p.m. in the Comcast Center. Parking is free and open in the lots around the arena.

  • Join the Terps to celebrate survivors and their family and friends. The Terrapins invite survivors and their families to come to the game for free. To register for free tickets, please email TerpSports@umd.edu with your full name, the name of the survivor, and the number of tickets you would like to request.   • The Terrapins own the all-time series over the Yellow Jackets, 43-18. They split their two matchups last year. Maryland won at Georgia Tech, 56-53, off a Kim Rodgers' buzzer-beater on Feb. 3. They met in the Quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament, in which the Jackets topped the Terrapins, 70-64. Both teams went 9-5 in ACC play last year, with Maryland finishing fourth and Georgia Tech finishing fifth, due to a tiebreaker.

  • The Terps are enjoying their best start since the 2007-08 season, when they began the year at 18-0.

    Last Time Out

  • The Terrapins rolled past Florida State (8-6, 0-1) Monday night in Tallahassee. They won their ACC opener for the seventh time in head coach Brenda Frese's 10 years.

  • Laurin Mincy led the Terps with 12 points and Alyssa Thomas and Tianna Hawkins added double-doubles. Thomas notched 21 points and 10 boards, while Hawkins scored 20 points and had 13 rebounds. Anjale Barrett added 12 points.

  • Maryland out rebounded Florida State, 53-40. The Terps, the nation's best rebounding team, have won the battle on the boards in all 14 games this year and 43 of their last 47 games, dating back to last season.

  • After Friday's game, the Terrapins will take on No. 23 North Carolina (11-2, 1-0) Sunday at 1 p.m. in Chapel Hill, N.C. Sunday's game will also be shown on the RSN family of networks.
