COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's basketball team's exhibition game vs. Catholic University Tuesday has been cancelled due to the effects of Hurricane Sandy. The preseason matchup, slated for a 7 p.m. tipoff at Comcast Center, will not be rescheduled.

The University of Maryland's first priority is of the safety of the student-athletes, staff and fans. Maryland has declared a state of emergency and according to the most up-to-date weather reports, the College Park campus will experience strong force winds and potential flash flooding from Hurricane Sandy on Tuesday.

The Terrapins' first outing will be an exhibition game vs. Goldey-Beacom College on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in Comcast Center. Maryland will open its 2012-13 regular season vs. Mount St. Mary's at 7 p.m. on Nov. 9.
