CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - Maryland took fourth in the 200 medley relay to highlight day one of the 2012 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships Wednesday.

Ginny Glover, Alexa Hamilton, Megan Lafferty and Carolyn Fittin finished fourth (1:40.55), behind Virginia, North Carolina and Miami. The time gave Maryland its first B-cut performance of the championships.

The team of Victoria Cassidy, Jennifer Roberts, Addison Koelle, and Kacie Ciampoli touched the wall eighth to lead Maryland in the 800 free relay (7:24.36). The Terps are fifth in the team standings after two events.

The championship continues Thursday with the 500 free, 200 IM, and 50 free preliminaries at 11 a.m. Finals in those events, along with the 200 free relay, will begin at 7 p.m. The men's three-meter diving prelims are scheduled 1 p.m., followed by the finals at 7 p.m. The women's one-meter prelims are at 3:15 p.m. with the finals at 5 p.m.
