  • The sixth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team is set for an 8:30 p.m. game Friday vs. North Carolina at Comcast Center. The Terrapins will honor seniors Anjale Barrett, Lynetta Kizer and Kim Rodgers prior to tip-off.

  • The Terps (23-4, 10-4 ACC) have won five of their last six games, while the Tar Heels (19-8, 9-5) have won their last two straight.

  • In their meeting on Jan. 8, the Terrapins won 78-72 in overtime in Chapel Hill. Alyssa Thomas led with 24 points, including a reverse layup to tie it at the buzzer at regulation.

  • The Terrapins are coming off of a 63-61 win over No. 5 Duke Sunday at Comcast Center. With 46 seconds left and the Terps down by one, Tianna Hawkins grabbed an offensive board and got the put-back for a 1-point lead. She was fouled and made the free throw to give the Terps a 61-59 advantage. With 14 seconds to go and the game tied again, Hawkins grabbed another offensive board and laid one in for the 63-61 win. Thomas blocked Duke's potential game-winning three at the at the end of buzzer.

  • Hawkins was named ACC Player of the Week Monday for the second straight week. In the Terps' two games last week, she shot over 77 percent from the field, averaged 22.5 points per game and 11.5 rebounds per game.

  • Thomas is leading the ACC in scoring with her 17.1 points per game in ACC games. Hawkins leads the league in rebounding with 9.7 boards per ACC game, 9.7 in all games and is No. 1 in the country with her field goal percentage of .650.

  • Based off Monday's NCAA statistics, the Terrapins' rebounding margin of +13.9 is third in the country to Liberty's +15.4 and California's +14.4.They are also in the top 10 in the country in scoring offense (2), FG percentage (5), assists (8) and scoring margin (8).

  • Maryland is ranked No. 6 in both the latest Associated Press and ESPN/USA Today Division I Top 25 Coaches' polls.

  • After Friday's game, the Terrapins will close out the regular season Sunday with a 2 p.m. game at NC State (15-13, 4-10) in Raleigh, N.C. Sunday's game can be seen online for a fee at GoPack.com.
