Two of the Terps' 2012 signees, Malina Howard and Tierney Pfirman, were named WBCA Top 20 high school seniors and have been invited to play in the WBCA High School All-America Game presented by Nike.
The 21st annual All-America Game, which is held as part of the WBCA National Convention, will be played Saturday, March 31, 2012, at the Pepsi Center, in Denver, site of the 2012 NCAA® Women's Final Four®. Tipoff is 4:30 p.m. MT. For the third consecutive year, the game will be played on the official NCAA Women's Final Four court. The 20 players will be divided into two 10-player teams for the game, which will be played according to NCAA rules.
Howard (Twinsburg, Ohio/ Twinsburg High School) is a 6-3 post player that was named the top-ranked post player in the country, according to ESPN's Hoop Gurlz. She is the No. 6 overall player out of the 2012 class. She won gold with the U.S. Under-19 team at the World Championships this past summer.
Pfirman (Williamsport, Pa./South Williamsport Junior Senior High School) is a 6-2 forward that was ranked as the No. 5 forward in the 2012 class. She recently broke the 2000-point mark and is her high school's all-time leading scorer.
Chloe Pavlech (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore High School), a 5-9 guard, rounds out the Terps' sixth-ranked class. She is the No. 23 point guard in this year's class.
