Fall 2012: Competed in four fall events... shot a 16-over 232 (79-74-79) at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate... finished at 8-over 152 (74-78) in the Firestone Invitational... fired a 18-over 234 (80-79-75) at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate... tallied a 12-over 228 (81-75-72) at the Bridgestone Golf Collegiate.

Spring 2012: Played in all five spring tournaments...finished with three rounds at or below par...opened the season with a 234 at The Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate...finished with a 235 at the General Hackler Championship at the DeBordieu Club...carded an 18-over 234 (73-78-83) at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate...led the squad with an even-par 216, the second-lowest 54-hole round of the season, (68-76-72) at the River Landing Intercollegiate...the first-round 68 was the lowest round carded by any Terp in the spring...finished the season with a 9-over 225 (75-72-78) at the ACC Championship.

Fall 2011: Competed in all five tournaments for the Terps during the fall season...led Maryland with 72.33 scoring average, which tied for seventh in the ACC and was the second best among freshman in the conference...earned four top-20 finishes...carded a Maryland season-low 211 (72-68-71) at the Maryland Intercollegiate to tie for 12th competing as an individual...finished with a 5-over 221 (71-72-78) at the VCU Shootout...led the Terps to a sixth place finish at the Firestone Invitational with a 1-under 215 (69-73-73)...earned his first top-10 finish of his career at The Invitational with an even-par 216 (72-71-73) to tie for seventh...closed the fall with a 222 at the ODU/OBX Collegiate Invitational.

Before Maryland: Four-year letterwinner at DeMatha Catholic High School..compiled a 41-4-1 match play record...led DeMatha to the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference (WCAC) and Washington Private School Championship in 2008, and Washington Private School Championship in 2010...2011 U.S. Junior Amateur qualifier...2010 WCAC runner-up...2010 Middle Atlantic Golf Association Junior Champion...2010 Williamson Cup Individual runner-up...2010 Maryland State Junior Amateur runner-up.

Personal: Born in Bowie, Md...son of Jay and Christine Sweet...sister Caroline Sweet plays golf at William & Mary...aeronautical engineering major...received academic scholarship from James Clarke School of Engineering...chose Maryland over the U.S. Naval Academy and Virginia.
