Jennifer LaGrange Bio

Jennifer LaGrange, 3rd year at Maryland (Louisiana State `94)

Jennifer LaGrange is in her third season as an assistant coach at Maryland. She is in charge of coordinating recruiting and team travel as well as training the middle blockers. LaGrange has managed stellar recruiting classes in each of her two years at Maryland.

Before arriving at Maryland, LaGrange coached at Southwest Texas State University, where she was the first assistant from 1997-99. During her three years at SWT, she helped lead the Bobcats to a 63-35 (.643) record, a Southland Conference Tournament championship in 1998 and an NCAA Tournament bid that same year. Specifically, LaGrange was the recruiting coordinator at Southwest Texas and coached the middle blockers and setters.

Prior to Southwest Texas, LaGrange was a volleyball and softball coach and taught English at Homewood High School in Birmingham, Ala., during the 1996-97 academic year. The previous two school years (1994-95 and 1995-96), LaGrange had the same responsibilities at Bishop Sullivan High School in Baton Rouge, La. In 1995, she was named the District 6 Volleyball Coach of the Year.

A 1994 graduate of Louisiana State University, LaGrange was a four-year letterwinner with the Tigers at the middle blocker position. LSU won the Southeastern Conference title three times during her career and advanced to the NCAA Final Four in 1990, which was held at Maryland, and 1991.

LaGrange has coached numerous summer camps throughout the nation and is currently certified (Level One) in the AVCA Coaches' Accreditation Program. She also holds membership in the AVCA and USA Volleyball.
