COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team (5-4-3/3-2-2 B1G) travels to Columbus, Ohio for a rare Saturday evening match at Ohio State (5-7-1/2-4-1 B1G). The Terps and the Buckeyes will play ay Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium on Oct. 11 at 7 p.m.

• Maryland is 2-1-2 in its past five matches, including a pair of one-goal wins, a pair of 0-0 draws and a one-goal loss in overtime.

Senior Shade Pratt and junior Shannon Collins share the team lead with six points. Pratt's six come on a team-best three goals, while Collins has a team-best six assists. Overall, 10 different Terps have scored goals in 2014. Junior Rachelle Beanlands has started all 12 games in goal and has a 0.94 goals-against average with five shutouts.

Scouting the Buckeyes

• Ohio State is 5-7-1 overall this season and is 2-4-1 so far in conference play. The Buckeyes are coming off of a 1-1 tie at Minnesota on Oct. 5 and, like the Terrapins, will be off until the match vs. Maryland on Oct. 11.

• Freshman forward Sammy Edwards leads the offense with nine points on four goals and one assist. Sophomore forward Lindsay Agnew leads the team lead with three assists to go along with one goal. Redshirt freshman Megan Geldernick has played every minute in goal for OSU and has posted a 1.78 goals-against average with a pair of shutouts.

• Head Coach Amy Berbary is in her 18th season as the head coach at Ohio State and has compiled a 201-138-32 (.585) record. Overall, Berbary has been a head coach for 20 years and has an overall record of 214-161-33 (.565).

Collins Climbs Assists Chart

• With her assist in the Terps' 2-1 win over Purdue on Oct. 2, junior Shannon Collins moved into a tie for 16th on the all-time assists list with Kelly Amonte (1992-95) and Jasmyne Spencer (2008-11), who also had 14 career assists.

Terps In Overtime

• Maryland has played in 102 overtime games in its 28-year history. The Terps' all-time record in those overtime games is 29-27-46 (.510).

• This season, Maryland is 0-1-3 in overtime with the a 1-1 draw at Navy on Sept. 8, a 0-0 tie vs. Michigan State on Sept. 21, a 4-3 loss in the first OT at Nebraska on Sept. 28 and a 0-0 tie with Indiana on Oct. 5. In 2013, the Terps were 1-1-0 in overtime games, winning 2-1 at Clemson on Sept. 12 and falling to Boston College, 1-0, on Oct. 27.

• The school record for most overtime games in a season is eight, which was set in 2007 and 2004. The 2004 team, which advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16, was 2-2-4 in OT, while the 2007 team was 1-4-3.

Non-Conference Success

• Dating back to its 10-0 win over Mount St. Mary's in 2008, Maryland has lost only six times in its last 49 matches vs. non-conference opponents. The Terps have outscored its non-conference opposition 130-31 in those 49 matches.

• The Terps recorded 20 straight wins over non-conference foes before tying Georgetown, 1-1, in second round of the NCAA tournament in 2010. Maryland is now 36-8-5 (.786) in its last 49 non-conference games. The Terps had been unbeaten in 31-straight non-conference games prior to losing, 1-0, at Oklahoma State in the Sweet 16 of the 2011 NCAA tournament.

Maryland In Ludwig Field Openers

• Ludwig Field opened in 1995 and Maryland has enjoyed remarkable success at the venue (see below). But even that success pales in comparison to how the Terps have fared in home openers at Ludwig Field.

• Since 1995, Maryland is an astounding 15-2-3 (.825) in home openers at Ludwig Field. All-time, including the first eight seasons when the Terps played at Denton Field, Maryland is 18-7-3 (.696) in home openers.

• Maryland is 7-0-0 in home openers since 2008 and has outscored its opposition 32-0 in those six matches. Prior to that the Terps were 0-0-3 from 2005-07 with 0-0 double-OT ties against Towson in 2005 and 2006 and Eastern Kentucky in 2007.

• The only two losses the Terps have sustained in home openers at Ludwig Field came in 2003 (a 3-0 loss to No. 13 Penn State) and 2004 (a 2-0 loss to Virginia Tech).

Maryland Picked Third In Preseason Big Ten Poll

• Maryland was picked to finish third in the Big Ten when the conference released its annual preseason coaches' poll on Aug. 13. Penn State, which has won the last 15 of the last 16 Big Ten titles, was picked to finish first, followed by Wisconsin and the Terrapins. Nebraska, the defending Big Ten champion, and Michigan, which advanced to the Elite Eight in the 2013 NCAA tournament, round out the top five.
