Big Ten Announces Opponents for 2015-16 Season

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The fifth-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (23-2, 14-0 B1G) announced its home and away opponents for the 2015-16 Big Ten conference schedule Thursday. The Terrapins will play an 18-game conference slate once again next year.

The Terps will welcome the following nine teams to the XFINITY Center next year:

The Terrapins will travel to the following nine opponents:

Maryland will play Michigan, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue and Wisconsin twice in home-and-home matchups.

Game dates and times will be released at a later date.

The Terrapins will play at Wisconsin (8-16, 4-10) Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.

The Maryland-Wisconsin matchup will be televised around the world on the Big Ten Network, BTN2Go.com and the BTN2Go app. Fans outside the U.S. can log on to http://international.btn2go.com/ to watch and will need a subscription.

Maryland is coming off a 75-69 win at Michigan State Monday as five Terrapins scored in double figures. Brionna Jones led the way with her ninth double-double of the year with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Lexie Brown added 14 points, 8 assists and 7 boards, while Tierney Pfirman scored 11 points off the bench.

The Terps have won 17 straight games since the beginning of December. Maryland won a school-record 24-straight games from the end of the 2005-06 season through the beginning of the 2006-07 season.

The Terps are 58-29 (.667) all-time against their 2014-15 Big Ten opponents. Maryland has won 23 straight games against Big Ten teams, dating back to 2007. In the 13 years under head coach Brenda Frese, the Terps are 26-4 (.867) against their new conference opponents. Frese is 38-10 (.792) all-time vs. Big Ten opponents, which includes her time at Minnesota (2001-02) and at Ball State (1999-01).

After Thursday's matchup, the Terrapins will host their annual Play 4 Kay Pink Game at Monday's 7 p.m. game vs. Penn State at XFINITY Center.
