whittle named b1g freshman of the week
- For the fifth time this season, Megan Whittle of Maryland women's lacrosse has been named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.
- Whittle continued her scoring prowess as she recorded two multi-goal games in two top-15 wins last week. In an 18-10 win over then-No. 15 Princeton, Whittle scored six goals and picked up a ground ball. In the Terps' 13-8 victory over then-No. 14 Ohio State, the freshman recorded her seventh hat trick of the season and one ground ball.
- The Glenwood, Md., native leads Maryland with 49 goals, which ranks her first in the Big Ten and fourth nationally. She is second in the conference and sixth in the NCAA in goals per game (3.50).

- Maryland is 91-2 in College Park under head coach Cathy Reese.

fitzpatrick makes statement with terps
- A transfer from Lehigh, redshirt senior Alex Fitzpatrick has led the Terps in goal. Fitzpatrick has started all 15 games and has played 778 minutes in the cage.
- Fitzpatrick boasts a 6.40 goals-against average and .494 save percentage. Her GAA is good for fifth in the nation and first in the conference, while her save percentage is ranked ninth in the NCAA and first in the Big Ten.
- Fitzpatrick allowed a season-low two goals against Towson, and kept the Tigers off the board completely in the second half. She also recorded a season-best 10 saves against Towson.

- Freshman Megan Whittle has made an immediate impact for the Terps in her first season.
- Whittle has scored 52 goals in 15 games, which ranks first on the team. It also puts her at third in the nation in total goals and sixth in goals per game.
- Whittle was named to the prestigious Tewaaraton Watch List in March.
- Whittle has been named the conference's Freshman of the Week five times, the most of any honoree. She was also named ILWomen.com's Freshman of the Week once.
