WASHINGTON – Maryland volleyball head coach Steve Aird connected with University alumni at the annual Terps on the Hill event last Thursday at the Rayburn House Office Building.
In its 10th year, Terps on the Hill brings Maryland alumni together who work on Capitol Hill or in Federal agencies.
“This was a special opportunity,” Aird said. “I always tell future students that College Park is only eight miles from the most powerful city in the world. Getting to meet and learn from alumni on Capitol Hill was incredible.”
Aird attended the event with more than 200 guests, including University president Wallace Loh and congress members from the Maryland delegation.
“This is a lovely event,” Patricia Braun, a 1958 graduate of the University of Maryland, said. “I worked on the Hill for my entire career and it is great getting to network with all these fellow alums. It's fun to spend time reconnecting with Maryland, and events like this remind me I need to get back more often.”
Members of the Student Athlete Advisory Council were also in attendance, including board member and senior middle blocker Kelsey Hrebenach.
