Kwas Competes in U19 World Championship

EDINBURGH, Scotland - Rising junior midfielder Theo Kwas represented Australia in the 2015 Federation of International Lacrosse U19 World Championship.

Kwas led the Aussie offense, posting 15 goals and two assists in eight contests. The Melbourne native notched two four-goal performances against Czech Republic and Japan. Kwas was one of 12 players selected to the All-World team at the end of the tournament.

The tournament began July 23 with the medal games taking place Aug. 1. Fourteen teams participated in the world championship. The Australians finished fourth with a 4-4 record after falling to England in the bronze medal game Saturday. Canada earned its first gold medal in the tournament with a win over the United States.

This is Kwas' second appearance on the U19 team as she helped Australia to the silver medal at the 2011 FIL World Cup.

Terrapin great Jen Adams served as an assistant coach for the Aussies.
