COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Big Ten champion Maryland women's basketball team released its non-conference slate for the 2015-16 season Monday, which includes a home game against Syracuse and neutral site games against NCAA Tournament teams South Dakota State, Pittsburgh and the NCAA Champion, Connecticut.
In their first appearance since their second straight Final Four, the Terrapins will officially open the 2015-16 season on Saturday, Nov. 14 with a 2 p.m. matchup against UMass-Lowell. On Wednesday, Nov. 18, the Terps will welcome High Point to the XFINITY Center for a 7 p.m. tipoff.
Maryland will host local elementary school students on Friday, Nov. 20 for an 11 a.m. game against Detroit Mercy for Field Trip Day. Over 2,000 young Maryland fans from 16 local elementary schools attended the Terrapins' first-ever Field Trip Day last November.
The Terps will travel to St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands to play in the Paradise Jam over Thanksgiving weekend. Maryland will take on Old Dominion and 2015 NCAA Tournament teams South Dakota State and Pittsburgh while in St. Thomas.
After their trip to the Caribbean, the Terrapins will host another 2015 NCAA Tournament team, Syracuse, in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge on Wednesday, Dec. 2. Maryland is 7-1 all-time in the Challenge.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, the Terps will host Central Connecticut State at 2 p.m., then will take on Loyola for the 10th straight year with a 7 p.m. matchup on Tuesday, Dec. 8. The Terrapins will close out their home non-conference schedule with a game against Southern on Friday, Dec. 11 at 7 p.m.
Maryland will travel to Princess Anne, Md. on Sunday, Dec. 20 for a matchup with University of Maryland-Eastern Shore at 1 p.m.
After a short break over the Christmas holiday, the Terrapins will travel to New York City for their matchup with Connecticut in the 10th annual Maggie Dixon Classic on Monday, Dec. 28. The Terps and the Huskies will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN2.
The Terps will host Goldey-Beacom in an exhibition on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 1 p.m. and IUP in a second exhibition on Wednesday, Nov. 4 at 7 p.m.
