COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The University of Maryland women's tennis team received its highest preseason ranking since 2012 when it was slotted at No. 66 in the Oracle/ITA Collegiate Tennis Rankings, released Tuesday.
The Terps return eight players from last season's squad and add two talented freshmen in Arnelle Sullivan and Caroline Williams. Sophomore Ekaratina Tour is the Terps' top singles player and was ranked in the top-15 of the Atlantic Regional rankings.
The doubles pair of Tour and Kristina Hovsepyan was rated as the seventh-best doubles team in the Atlantic Region.
Maryland opens its season against Columbia at the ITA Kick-Off Weekend in Charlottesville, Va.
