COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland women's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision to Indiana Sunday afternoon at Ludwig Field.

The Terrapins (3-13-1, 1-8-0 Big Ten) took control of the match in the second half after falling behind in the first 45 minutes, but were unable to tie the match. Maryland honored seniors Emily Kift, Stephanie Senn, Gabby Galanti and Lisa Bianchini before the match as a part of senior day festivities.

After an uneventful first 15 minutes, freshman Jlon Flippens almost struck first with a shot inside the box that was just turned away by the Indiana keeper. In the 30th minute, sophomore Jarena Harmon found space in the left side of the box near the end line, put couldn't curl her shot past the keeper.

After Terrapins keeper Rachel Egyed made a fantastic save to keep Indiana off the scoreboard, Indiana struck off a corner in the 34th minute. Meghan Scott lofted a ball to the back post that Marissa Borschke headed in to give the Hoosiers a 1-0 lead.

Maryland controlled the majority of the second half. Harmon had a golden chance early in the half, but couldn't get her effort to go from close range.

Junior Chelsea Jackson had a solid chance in the 67th minute. Sophomore Jenna Surdick slid the ball to Jackson, but the junior was unable to get her shot on frame after turning her defender.

The Terps continued to pile on the pressure late in the half, but couldn't find a decisive shot opportunity.

Maryland's defense has been solid in the last three games, having not given up a goal in the run of play in 300 minutes dating back to the Terps' contest with Ohio State.

Maryland returns to action for its final home match against Iowa at 4 p.m. Friday. The game can been seen live on BTN Plus.
