• The No. 1 Maryland men's soccer team capped a challenging month of September with a 4-0 rout at Northwestern Friday night.
• Maryland (7-0-2, 4-0-1 B1G) remained unbeaten on the year despite lining up against five-straight conference foes, including three on the road, this month. Jake Rozhansky, Amar Sejdic, Gordon Wild and George Campbell provided the scoring for the Terps. The Maryland defense completed its third shutout of the year and its second in a row.
• San Diego (3-3-3) lost in overtime to No. 11 San Diego State, 1-0, its last time out. Michael Turner and Miguel Berry lead the Toreros wih four goals each. This it the first meeting between Maryland and San Diego.
• Monday's non-conference matchup with San Diego is the Terps' first out of conference since South Florida on Sept. 5. Maryland played five consecutive Big Ten matches in the month of September and went 4-0-1 in those contests.
• Maryland is off to its best start since the 2012 season when the team matched its best start in program history at 14-0-1, which included a tie against UCLA. Of Maryland's eight games this season, four have been against nationally-ranked opponents including UCLA, Georgetown, Indiana and Michigan State.
• Maryland leads the nation in both overall attendance (25,307) and average attendance (5,061).
