Taylor Picks Up B1G Weekly Awards

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Freshman goalie Megan Taylor of the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team was named the Big Ten Defensive Player and Freshman of the Week, as announced by the conference Monday.

In just her second career start, Taylor put up a fantastic performance in cage in Maryland's 8-7 win over No. 5 North Carolina last Saturday. Taylor made eight saves against the Tar Heels, including one on the first possession of the game and four in the first 12 minutes of the game. She also picked up one ground ball.

Taylor is the Terps' second-straight Defensive Player of the Week and second Freshman of the Week this season.

Maryland (3-0) is back in action against Hofstra (0-3) this Saturday at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex. Opening draw is scheduled for noon and the game will be streamed live on BTN Plus.
