Terrapins Finish Up at Hootie

AWENDAW, S.C. - The Maryland men's golf team finished up at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate at the Bulls Bay Golf Club Tuesday.

"This was an up and down week for us," head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. "We're young, starting two freshmen and two sophomores, so we're going to make mistakes. In a field this strong we need our best players to be really good and we struggled some. We'll look to finish strong in the final two events of the spring. "

Sophomore Joe Brooks finished with a combined score of 224 (76-74-74), which was eight-over total, to lead the Terps.

Sophomore David Kocher rebounded after a tough first two rounds to go one-under par in the third round Tuesday. He finished with a combined score of 225 (75-79-71), which was +9 on the event. Freshman Timothy Colanta also earned a combined score of 225 (75-73-77).

Freshman Reilly Erhardt went one-over with a 73 Tuesday to earn a total score of 228 (82-73-73). Senior Tom Harris also shot a 228 (73-73-82) on the event.

The Terrapins finished 12th in the tournament.

Next, they will compete at the Robert Kepler Intercollegiate Saturday and Sunday at The Ohio State University Golf Club's Scarlet Course.
