INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Former Maryland women's basketball guard Brene Moseley was named to the Indiana Fever's opening night roster Friday. She will make her WNBA debut Saturday vs. the Dallas Wings at 6 p.m. on ESPN3.
Moseley selected by the Indiana Fever with the No. 21 pick overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft last month. She averaged 14.0 points in the Fever's two preseason games.
Moseley joins former Terrapins Marissa Coleman and Lynetta Kizer on the Fever. Indiana went 20-14 overall in the 2015 season and advanced to the WNBA Finals.
Eleven players in head coach Brenda Frese's 14 years at Maryland have been drafted. Moseley is the 15th Terrapin in history to be drafted since the league began in 1997. She is the seventh Terp to make a current WNBA roster, joining Tianna Hawkins (Washington Mystics), Crystal Langhorne (Seattle Storm), Alyssa Thomas (Connecticut Sun), Kristi Toliver (Los Angeles Sparks), Coleman and Kizer.
Moseley led the Terrapins in assists with 5.9 per game and led the Big Ten with her assist/turnover ratio of 2.4. She averaged 11.6 points per game and was named the Big Ten's Sixth Player of the Year, to the Big Ten Second Team and a Nancy Lieberman Award finalist for the nation's top point guard.
In her career, Moseley helped the Terrapins to three conference tournament titles, two Final Fours and an Elite Eight. She played in 142 career games, just shy of Marissa Coleman's program-record of 144.
