- Five members of the No. 1 Maryland women's lacrosse team were named IWLCA All-Americans on Wednesday.
- Senior midfielder Taylor Cummings, senior defender Alice Mercer and sophomore attackerMegan Whittle were named First Team All-Americans. Maryland has the most first teamers of any program.
- Junior midfielder Zoe Stukenberg was selected to the second team and junior defender Nadine Hadnagy was named to the third team.
cummings, mercer named tewaaraton finalists
- Seniors Taylor Cummings and Alice Mercer were announced as two of five finalists for the 2016 Tewaaraton Award on Sunday.
- Cummings and Mercer are co-captains for the undefeated Terps this season. The seniors were both named All-Big Ten and IWLCA First Team All-Region, and both play for the U.S. National Team.
- Maryland has produced six Tewaaraton winners, the most in the history of the award. Jen Adams won the first Tewaaraton in 2001, and Caitlyn Phipps earned the honor in 2010. Katie Schwarzmann won back-to-back Tewaaratons in 2012 and 2013.
- The Terps have had 17 Tewaaraton finalists in 13 years of the award. This is the fourth time Maryland has had two finalists in the same season.
five terps earn top big ten honors
- After posting a 19-0 record and earning the Big Ten regular season and tournament titles, five Terps earned 2016 Big Ten individual honors this week.
- Seniors Taylor Cummings and Alice Mercer were unanimously selected as the Big Ten Midfielder and Defender of the Year, respectively.
- Sophomore Megan Whittle was named the Big Ten Attack Player of the Year and freshman Megan Taylor was chosen as the Goaltender of the Year. All four players were named to the All-Big Ten team last month, and Cummings, Mercer and Whittle are Tewaaraton nominees. Cummings, Mercer and Taylor were named to the Big Ten all-tournament team.
- Head coach Cathy Reese was named the Big Ten Coach of the Year. This is the eighth time in Reese's career she's been named conference coach of the year.
b1g Tourney Champs! Terps take down wildcats
- The Terps pulled away in the second half to defeat No. 15 Northwestern, 12-9, in the Big Ten Tournament championship last week.
- Junior attacker Caroline Wannen led the Terps with three goals and one assist. Sophomore attacker Megan Whittle posted two goals and one assist while senior midfielders Taylor Cummings and Bryn Boucher each scored twice.
- Freshman goalie Megan Taylor made seven saves and picked up two ground balls. Senior defender Alice Mercer caused three turnovers against the Wildcats.
- Wannen, Taylor, Cummings and Mercer were named to the all-tournament team. Cummings was named the Big Ten Tournament MVP.

terps claim big ten regular season title
- Maryland fought back in a tough battle with Penn State to claim the Big Ten regular season title last week with a 10-9 win.
- The Terps finished the regular season with a 17-0 record, the second straight year Maryland has posted an unblemished regular season. Maryland has gone undefeated in the regular season eight previous times and advanced to the national championship game in each year.
- The Terps claimed the regular season title for their second straight season in the Big Ten.

- The Terps finished the regular season home schedule at 9-0 for 2016. The senior class moved to 42-0 in their careers in College Park.
- Maryland is 104-2 in College Park under head coach Cathy Reese. The Terps have won all seven games in which they have played an opponent ranked No. 1 or 2 at home in the past seven seasons.
- Maryland is currently on a 51-game win streak at the Field Hockey & Lacrosse Complex and hasn't lost in College Park since March 10, 2012.
