Aird Announces Coaching Staff Update

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland volleyball head coach Steve Aird announced that assistant coach Kristin Kenney will step away from coaching to pursue business opportunities in the Washington, D.C. area.

"The Maryland volleyball family is very excited for Kristin as she makes this transition," Aird said. "The strides this program has made in the last three years is due in large part to her energy and commitment. I am thrilled she is staying local, and we are all excited about the program's future."

Kenney has been an integral member of the Terps' rebuild since coming to College Park in 2014. She has helped bring in two of the top recruiting classes in program history and was an important part of transitioning the team to the Big Ten, the nation's premier volleyball conference.

"I would like to thank Coach Aird and the Maryland administration for the opportunity to be a part of building this program over the past three seasons," Kenney said. "The University of Maryland is nothing short of exceptional, and this program is in an incredible position to compete on the national scene for years to come. I am looking forward to pursuing new personal and professional goals in the DMV and am so excited for the future of Maryland Volleyball."

A national search for a new assistant coach will commence immediately.
