storylines

Justin Jackson had a double-double with a career-high 28 points and 10 rebounds, making all five of his 3-point attempts, and Maryland beat Minnesota 85-78 on Saturday for its sixth straight win the last time out. The Terps' 59-point second half was the most points in a half since a 59-point second-half against Fairleigh Dickinson on Nov. 18, 2005.

• Jackson and fellow freshman Kevin Huerter combined to go 10 for 12 from 3-point range. Huerter finished with 19 points and Melo Trimble added 13 points, nine assists and seven rebounds as the Terrapins shot a blazing .501 from the floor and a scorching .611 from beyond the arc. Junior guard Jared Nickens is shooting 62.5 percent from three-point range in B1G play this season.

• The Terps - who have won six games in a row - have matched the best start in program history (1998-99) with a 19-2 record through 21 contests. Maryland's four-game road conference winning streak is its longest since the 2006-07 season.

• With his season-high nine-assist showing at Minnesota, Melo Trimble became one of only five players in Maryland history to record 1,400 points, 350 assists and 100 steals, joining Juan Dixon, Greivis Vasquez, Johnny Rhodes and Walt Williams. After posting 13 points against the Golden Gophers Saturday, Trimble now boasts 19 double-figure scoring games this season and passed Derrick Lewis for 17th on Maryland's career scoring list (1,462). He has averaged 16.6 points, six assists and six rebounds over the last three games while shooting at a 55.2 percent clip during that span.

• Maryland is a perfect 5-0 on the road this season and 7-0 in games away from the XFINITY Center. The Terps are shooting .493 on the road while holding opponents to a .394 field goal percentage. The play of Maryland's rookie trio of Justin Jackson, Anthony Cowan and Kevin Huerter has been critical to the Terps' success on the road. The trio is averaging a combined 35.6 points, 8.4 assists and 15.6 rebounds per game in the Terps' five road contests.

• Maryland racked up a season-high 100 points en route to a 100-65 win over Ohio State at XFINITY Center on Jan. 16 last season prior to topping the Buckeyes on the road, 66-61, Jan. 31.
