RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Maryland men's golf team wrapped up at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at the Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh Tuesday.
As a team, the Terrapins tied for fifth out of 14 teams competing with a score of 871 (292-291-288), which was seven strokes over par total. Maryland tied tournament-host NC State with the lowest round Tuesday.
Sophomore Peter Knade led the way for Maryland with his four-under score of 212 (72-70-70). He finished tied for sixth in the individual standings.
Junior Evan Santa shot Maryland's lowest score in Tuesday's third and final round with a 69. He finished tied for 13th with a score of 215 (72-74-69), which was one-under par.
“This was another solid week for Peter and Evan. This makes two top 10 finishes in a row for Peter,” head coach Jason Rodenhaver said. “As a team, we struggled to get anything going yesterday. I was happy to see us bounce back with the low round of the day today. We have a quick turnaround this week as we head to UNC Thursday. We need more production from our veteran players.”
Junior Timothy Colanta finished with a four-over score of 220 (73-70-77) to tie for 31st. Senior David Kocher shot a 224 (75-77-72), which was +8. Sophomore Bennett Buch earned a score of 239 (77-82-80).
The Lonnie Poole Golf Course is a par-72 and covers 7,358 yards.
Next, Maryland will compete at the Tar Heel Intercollegiate this weekend in Chapel Hill, N.C.
