#15 Terps Take Down George Washington

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Sophomore guard Blair Watson paced the Terps with 19 points as the No. 15/14 Maryland women's basketball team (9-2) took down George Washington (3-7), 80-54, Friday evening in the XFINITY Center.

Five Terrapins finished in double-digit scoring behind Watson, including sophomore guard Kaila Charles (14), senior guard Ieshia Small (13), sophomore forward Stephanie Jones (12) and junior forward Brianna Fraser (10).

Watson had an 8-0 run as Maryland took a 10-2 lead to start the game. She continued to outscore the Colonials until midway through the second quarter, including four three-pointers. The Terps took a 41-21 lead into halftime.

The Terrapins continued to roll in the third quarter, opening the period with a 7-0 run. Small reached the 500-career points threshold midway through the third quarter.

Maryland outrebounded George Washington 45-28 and picked up a 44-16 advantage in points in the paint.

Charles has been in double figures scoring in all 11 games this year.

Maryland is ranked No. 15 in the Associated Press poll and tied with Duke (6-2) for No. 14 in the USA Today Coaches poll.
