Three Terps Named to VolleyballMag.com Fab 50

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Three of the newest members of the Maryland volleyball team were named to the 2017 VolleyballMag.com/Triple Crown Sports Girls Fab 50 list, as announced Sunday. Hitter/setter Samantha Drechsel, middle blocker Jada Gardner and outside hitter Erika Pritchard earned the honor.

Maryland is one of just seven programs with at least three Fab 50 selections.

Drechsel, Gardner and Pritchard are all members of Maryland's strongest recruiting class to date. All three were ranked in PrepVolleyball's Senior Aces, which lists the top 100 players in the country.

The No. 23 player in the country, Drechsel was named a 2016 Under Armour First Team All-American. She also earned PrepVolleyball, MaxPreps and VolleyballMag.com All-America honors.

Gardner is the No. 68 player in her class. She is a four-time first team all-district selection and led her club team to third place finishes at the 2015 AAU 16 Premier and 2016 GJNC 17 National tournaments.

Pritchard was ranked No. 29 by PrepVolleyball and was an Under Armour Second Team All-American. She also earned special mention All-America honors from PrepVolleyball.

Last season, Gia Milana and Katie Myers were named to the Fab 50 list. Before Milana and Myers earned the honor, Maryland's only recipient was Katie Cramer, who made the list in 1997.
