COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Maryland men's lacrosse sophomore Austin Henningsen has been named Big Ten Conference Specialist of the Week after outstanding performances in a pair of Terrapin victories last week.
Henningsen won 31-of-41 (.756) faceoff attempts against St. Joseph's and High Point, while totaling nine ground balls, two assists and a goal.
The Northport, N.Y., native won a season-high 18 faceoffs against St. Joseph's and added six ground balls. It was the second-most faceoff wins in his career. Henningsen then followed that up with a 13-for-17 (.765) performance against High Point, while also tallying career-highs in points (3) and assists (2).
Henningsen and the No. 1 ranked Terrapins return to action Saturday at noon when they host No. 8 Yale at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium.
