Stukenberg Named ILWomen Midfielder of the Year

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Zoe Stukenberg added to her postseason honors as she was selected as ILWomen's National Midfielder of the Year Monday.

The 2017 Tewaaraton Award recipient, Stukenberg was also the IWLCA National Midfielder of the Year and the Big Ten Midfielder of the Year.

As a senior co-captain, the Ellicott City, Md., native led the Terps to a 23-0 record and the 2017 NCAA Championship. She ranked in the top three of every statistical category for the Terps this season, including 53 goals, 31 assists, 84 points, 48 ground balls, 74 draw controls and 21 caused turnovers.

Stukenberg was picked to the All-Big Ten, Big Ten All-Tournament and NCAA All-Tournament teams.

Also a standout in the classroom, Stukenberg graduated last month with a 4.0 grade-point average and a degree in biological sciences. She was named a CoSIDA First Team Academic All-American and earned the NCAA's Elite 90 Award three times.
