GUILDFORD, England - Maryland women's lacrosse will be heavily represented as the 2017 FIL World Cup, which kicks off Wednesday in England.
Seventeen current or former Terps will be competing or coaching at the World Cup, which is held every four years. Maryland has six Terrapins on Team USA, four on Australia, three on England, two on Wales and one on Canada.
In 2013, Katie Schwarzmann and current assistant coach Caitlyn Phipps helped lead the United States to its seventh World Cup title.
The FIL World Cup will take place July 12-22 in Guildford, Surrey, England. Twenty-five nations are competing this year will pool play taking place from July 12-18. For the complete game schedule, click here.
