Confroy Earns CoSIDA Academic All-District Honor

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – Senior Kristen Confroy of the 13th-ranked Maryland women's basketball team (22-5, 11-3 B1G) earned CoSIDA Academic All-District I First Team honors Thursday for the third straight year.

Confroy will graduate with her degree in biological sciences, focusing on physiology and neurobiology this spring. She currently carries a GPA of 3.82. She was accepted into Wake Forest's medical school earlier this winter.

Confroy has started in all 27 games for the Terrapins this season and has played in 110 straight games since February of her freshman year. This season, she's averaging 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds with 80 assists and 44 steals so far.

She is No. 6 in the country and leads the Big Ten in three-point FG percentage (.471). With three three-pointers at Rutgers Feb. 11, Confroy became the second Terp to hit 200 career threes. She is tied for No. 2 in the Maryland record books in career three-point percentage (.408).

Maryland will take on Michigan (20-8, 9-6) Thursday at 6 p.m. ET at the Wolverines' Crisler Center in Ann Arbor.
