PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Maryland women's tennis team (3-5, 0-0 B1G) fell to No. 26 Princeton, 4-0, to begin its Ivy League weekend on Friday afternoon.
For just the third time all season, Maryland was unable to capture the doubles point to begin the match. Princeton earned a pair of wins at first and seconds doubles to take the 1-0 lead going into singles play.
The Tigers were able to keep the momentum going when singles began, picking up a trio of straight-set victories at first, fourth and sixth singles to earn the 4-0 victory.
Maryland will conclude its weekend trip with a match at Columbia on Saturday, Mar. 3. Opening serve is slated for 1 p.m.
