Terps Add Maddie Naumann to 2019 Roster

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland volleyball head coach Adam Hughes announced the addition of transfer Maddie Naumann to the 2019 roster on Thursday.

"We are very excited to add Maddie to our Terrapin family," said Hughes. "It was clear during this transfer process that Maddie and her family aligned themselves with our program goals. We are looking forward to Maddie arriving on campus so together we can get back to work."

Naumann comes to Maryland with three years of eligibility after spending her freshman season at the University of Miami. A defensive specialist, Naumann appeared in nine matches for the Hurricanes (29 sets), posting 44 digs.

The incoming sophomore started two of the three matches during the opening weekend for the Canes and produced 14 digs and one assist at the 2018 Sunshine State Challenge. The following weekend, Naumann finished the Puerto Rico Classic with 13 digs and one kill.

A native of Austin, Texas, Naumann led Westlake High School in sets played, aces and serves received while standing second in digs and kills in her senior season. Naumann was named to the All-District and All-State Academic Teams in 2017. She will major in biology at Maryland.

Naumann will join a young, talented Maryland team coming off one of their best seasons in recent memory, earning the program's most Big Ten wins ever. The sophomore will join fellow Lone Star State natives, Jada Gardner and Allegra Rivas on the Terrapin roster.
