Terps Host Iona in NCAA Tournament First Round Thursday

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Maryland men's soccer team will host Iona in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Thursday night at Ludwig Field.

The Terrapins have now advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 19 consecutive seasons and are making their 39th appearance in school history. Maryland is the reigning national champions and has won four national titles (1968, 2005, 2008, 2018) in school history. The Terps have reached the round-of-16 in 19 of the last 25 years.

Last season, the Terps did not give up a goal in the entirety of the NCAA Tournament en route to the national championship. The Terps have won double-digit matches in a season under head coach Sasho Cirovski in each of the last 26 seasons, the longest streak for any head coach in the country.

Maryland features six All-Big Ten selections: Eli Crognale/Johannes Bergmann (first team), Eric Matzelevich/Niklas Neumann (second team) and Malcolm Johnston/Nick Richardson (freshman team).
