  • All Maryland students will get into the NCAA Tournament for FREE. The first 300 students can claim free pizza in lot 1D.

Storylines
  • Maryland is hosting a first round NCAA Tournament match for the second time in three years. The Terps hosted Albany in this round in 2017 and were eliminated on penalty kicks. The Terrapins were seeded 11th and got a first round bye last season en route to the national championship. The Terps defeated NC State, 2-0, in their opening match of the tournament last season.
  • On their way to a national title, the Terps did not give up a goal in the entire 2018 NCAA Tournament, a total of 450 minutes. The Terps have not allowed a tally since the 2016 NCAA Tournament, a 568-minute stretch.
  • This will be the first time Iona and Maryland have faced of in men's soccer.
  • Sasho Cirovski, one of the most decorated coaches in college soccer history, is now four wins away from 400 at Maryland. Cirovski currently has 422 wins all-time, the sixth-most among active coaches. With 400 wins at Maryland, Cirovski would be one of just six coaches in history with 400 wins at one Division I school.
B1G Things Poppin'

Bergmann, a unanimous selection, has helped the Terps to 10 clean sheets and has also added two goals and two assists this season. Crognale has four goals and five assists this season. Both players are captains.
  • Junior forward Eric Matzelevich and freshman goalkeeper Niklas Neumann were named to the All-Big Ten Second Team. Matzelevich leads the Terps with five goals while Neumann has notched nine clean sheets this season.
  • Maryland has new players selected to the All-Big Ten Freshman Team, midfielders Malcolm Johnston and Nick Richardson. Johnston has three goals and four assists this season while Richardson has emerged as one of the best defensive midfielders in the country.
Bin Wins N4A Wilma Rudolph Award
  • Paul Bin accepted the National Association of Academic and Student-Athlete Development Professionals' (N4A) Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award in June at the N4A Convention Awards Luncheon. The N4A Wilma Rudolph Student-Athlete Achievement Award honors student-athletes who have overcome great personal, academic, and/or emotional odds to achieve academic success while participating in intercollegiate athletics.
  • Bin served as an inspiration inside and outside of the University of Maryland community for his battle with mental health and his subsequent advocacy for mental health awareness in sports. The junior forward played a large role on the field in the Terps capturing their fourth national title in program history in 2018, scoring four goals and adding three assists in 21 matches.
  • Joining Bin at the ceremony were his fellow 2019 honorees: Madeline Banic (Tennessee), Noelle Lambert (UMass-Lowell), Maggie Nichols (Oklahoma) and Levi Prater (Oklahoma).
