IOWA CITY, Ia. -- The Maryland wrestling team fell to the undefeated and third-ranked Iowa Hawkeyes, 48-0, at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Friday.
The Hawkeyes, whose lineup featured eight ranked grapplers, were able to use bonus points to distance themselves from the Terrapins. The night's marquee bout came at heavyweight, where Maryland's ninth-ranked
Youssif Hemida met ninth-ranked Sam Stoll. Stoll's third period escape was the difference in the contest, as Iowa's returning All-American was able to take home a 1-0 victory in the contest.
Maryland will be back in action on Sunday, when the Terps travel to Minnesota to take on the Golden Gophers. The match will be live streamed on BTN+.
