AUSTIN, Texas -- Upon completion of the second day of NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas, all three of Maryand's competitors finished their season earning the sport's top honors.
Graduate student
Alexandra Lucki opened the day for the Terps and capped off her career with a solid showing in the 1500m run, placing 17th with a 4:19.45 and earning Honorable Mention All-American honors for the first time in her career.Â
Next, sophomore
Xahria Santiago ended her memorable sophomore season with a 11th-place finish in the 400m hurdles with a 57.62, earning Second-Team All-American accolades.
Senior
Jewel Smith closed out the day for the Terps and ended her remarkable career with a 13th-place finish in the long jump with a personal-best 6.21m jump. The senior earned Second-Team All-American honors, her highest accolades since taking home Honorable Mention All-American honors last year at the 2018 NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Senior
Greg Thompson is the next Terp in competition at the NCAA Championships. Thompson will compete for a National Championship in the discus tonight at 8:05 p.m. ET.
