LEXINGTON, Ky. — Senior Kameron Jones opened his indoor season with a No. 3 all-time and personal best 1:50.94 finish in the 800m dash on day two of the Rod McCravy Memorial meet Saturday.
Jones' second place finish in the event earned him his sixth career indoor top-10 title.
Mackenzie Morgan is also stacking up the amount of times her name appears in the Terps' record books. Morgan took second in the 800m with a personal best of 2:11.13, which is the 10th best time ever at Maryland. She now is No. 10 in the 800m and No. 9 in the 600m.
Indoor 400m record-holder Dashawn Morris came out of the blocks for the first time this season in the race with a third place finish (47.21). Aaron Robinson, who is a member of the school record 4x400m relay team, also competed in the 400m dash. Cheyenne Jones took home seventh in the 400m (55.97), which is the fastest women's 400m time of the season.
In the 3000m, all three Terps placed within the top-ten. Seniors Brittany Lang (10:02.48) and Kathryn Gearhart (10:07.17) placed fifth and ninth, respectively. Freshman Anna Coffin (10:06.90) took home eighth. In the women's mile, Christine Laurie (5:01.28) and Samantha Facius (5:05.80) both had their season debut in the mile.
Freshman, Sarah George places 12th in a loaded field of throwers. George threw 13.89m in the shot put.
The Terps will be a split team next weekend when they compete at the Penn State National Open and the Navy Invitational.
