LINCOLN, Neb. — Kameron Jones took home first place in the 800m run on day two of the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational Saturday, marking the 16th first place title of his career.
Jones led the race from the gun and crossed the line in 1:51.86.
The Terps set Top-10 times for the fifth week in a row.
Destiny Ward ran a personal best time in the 200m dash (24.20) for the second consecutive week, moving to No. 2 All-Time.
Colin Rowe ran 1:19.70 in the 600m, good for the No. 3 spot in the Terps' record book.
Freshman Maxwell Myers also ran the 600m, setting a No. 5 All-Time finish. Myers' performance follows consecutive personal improvements in the Terps' record book, after he set a No. 9 All-Time 600m dash time in his first collegiate meet on Jan. 11.
Mackenzie Morgan continued to stand out on the track, breaking her personal best time in the 800m Saturday for the second meet in a row. Morgan pushed through the race, finishing in 2:10.69 and is now the Terps eighth fastest 800m runner.
Women:
Maryland milers were a driving force for the team Saturday when Christine Laurie set a season best 4:57.91 and freshman Anna Coffin paced it out with a personal best 5:02.76. Both women set back to back season best times within the last two meets.
Nadia Hackett took home seventh in the 60m hurdle finals with a blazing time of 8.57.
Jaida Smith set a personal best in the 200m dash in 24.82, and Imani Gray added another race to her sophomore career.
Senior Leah Blackall set the bar in triple jump with a season best jump of 12.25m (40' 2.25"). Blackall finished 6th among a competitive field.
Xahria Santiago, Cheyenne Jones, Nadia Hackett and Venida Fagan put together a season best finish of 3:44.77 in the 4x400m relay. The team rounded out the day for Maryland with a fourth place finish.
Men:
Dashawn Morris took home fifth with a season best 21.47 in the 200m dash and holds the top time for the Terps' in the race this season. Freshman Joseph Ewan competed in the 200m for the fourth time this season with a steady race.
Nick Cross continued his track and field debut in the 200m, after racing in the 60m dash Friday. Joining him in the event debut was freshman Caleb Dean.
Aaron Robinson showed that hard work pays off in his 1:20.75 600m, shaving seconds off for a season best time.
Gerald Norgbe put on for Maryland in triple jump, taking first place in his flight (14.15m/46'5") and qualifying for finals.
Maryland will travel to Lynchburg, Va. for Liberty University's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational Feb. 14-15.
