Thanks for the Memories KK!
  • Maryland recognized its Team Impact teammate Mikayla "KK" Hirsch before its game against Northwestern in a pregame graduation ceremony.
  • KK, who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2014, was officially signed to the Terps roster before the 2019 season and has been a mainstay on the sidelines of Ludwig Field supporting the Terps.
  • Members of the Hirsch family joined players and coaches from both Maryland and Northwestern on the field to present KK with gifts and pose for photos.
  • Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit headquartered in Boston, MA that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. Maryland Athletics has partnered with the organization for nearly a decade to match children with the school's varsity programs.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Maryland holds a 7-5-2 edge in the all-time series with Rutgers, which has produced some exciting matchups in recent years. During last spring's Covid-shortened Big Ten only schedule, Maryland held then-17th ranked Rutgers scoreless in a 0-0 draw. Two years ago Maryland clinched a thrilling 2-1 win over the Scarlet Knights in Piscataway on goals from Hope Lewandoski and Alyssa Poarch.
  • The Terps are 1-3-3 all-time vs. Indiana. The two sides played an exciting back-and-forth affair last spring, with Indiana pulling out a 3-2 victory after Maryland tied the game late on a Keyera Wynn Strike.

Terps Take Two Draws to Finish B1G Homestand
  • Maryland managed its first points of the conference season September 23 & 26, playing two double overtime draws against Nebraska (0-0) and Northwestern (1-1).
  • Maryland's defense was impressive throughout both games, going 199 minutes without surrendering a goal before a late Wildcat score tied the game in the 90th minute Sunday.
  • Loren Sefcik netted the lone goal for the Terps on the weekend, beating the keeper after Alyssa Poarch played a beautiful ball into the box to set up the play.

Conference Play is Here to Stay
  • Maryland is in the midst of its eighth season of Big Ten play since joining the conference in 2014.
  • The Terps put together their best-ever finish in the conference just a few years ago, going 5-5-1 in B1G play for a sixth-place finish. Maryland earned its first trip to the Big Ten Tournament that season.
  • Maryland is through a challenging stretch of three straight road games, and will play its final four games of the regular season in the next two weeks. Five of Maryland's final seven games are road games.
