 THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES
One Last Thriller at Ludwig
- Maryland's final home game of the season proved to be a thriller, as the Terrapins played to a 0-0 double overtime draw after a back-and-forth affair at Ludwig Field.
- In was the second time in three meetings with the Hoosiers the two teams played to a scoreless draw, as none of the games' 29 shots found the back of the net
- Maryland nearly had the game winner in the final seconds of the second overtime period, after Toni Domingos put a ball in front of the goal line. But the Hoosiers were able to clear it away and hold for the tie, as UMD sealed its fifth draw of the season Sunday.

Thanks for the Memories KK!
- Maryland recognized its Team Impact teammate Mikayla "KK" Hirsch before its game against Northwestern in a pregame graduation ceremony.
- KK, who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease in 2014, was officially signed to the Terps roster before the 2019 season and has been a mainstay on the sidelines of Ludwig Field supporting the Terps. Â
- Members of the Hirsch family joined players and coaches from both Maryland and Northwestern on the field to present KK with gifts and pose for photos.
- Team IMPACT is a national nonprofit headquartered in Boston, MA that connects children facing serious or chronic illnesses with college athletic teams, forming lifelong bonds and life-changing outcomes. Maryland Athletics has partnered with the organization for nearly a decade to match children with the school's varsity programs.

SERIES HISTORY
- Maryland is 2-1-3 all-time vs. Michigan State, last facing the Spartans when both teams opened up their Big Ten only spring 2021 season on February 20, 2021. The Terps and Spartans played to a 1-1 draw, after an 89th minute goal from Mikayla Dayes forced overtime.
- The Terrapins have never beaten Michigan, as the Wolverines hold a 7-0 edge in the all-time series. The Wolverines won 4-0 last season in College Park when the teams met on March 18. Â

Dynamic Duo in the Goal
- Goalkeepers Liz Brucia and Madeline Smith have performed admirably in the net for Maryland this season, as last Sunday's tie with Indiana marked the fifth shutout of the 2021 season for UMD.
- The pair combined to make seven saves in the game, including five from Smith in the second half and overtime.
- After missing the first half of the season, Smith has been steady in the cage in her appearances this year, holding a 1.36 GAA and 81.4% save percentage. Â
Sefcik, DeRosa Tally Goals
- Loren Sefcik and Catherine DeRosa provided some bright spots for Maryland in the team's 5-2 loss to No. 9 Rutgers on October 14.
- It was the team-leading third goal of the season for Sefcik, who scored in the 13th minute to keep the Terps within a goal early. DeRosa notched her second score of 2021 in the second half, taking a feed to the left wing and arcing the ball perfectly into the right side of the cage. Â
