PITTSBURGH, PA -- The Maryland wrestling team (0-2, 0-0 Big Ten) dropped a tough contest to the No. 19 Pittsburgh Panthers (3-1, 0-0 ACC) 26-7 on Monday night at Fitzgerald Field House.
Dominic Solis and
Kyle Cochran won their second dual matches of the season to stay undefeated in duals on the young season.
Solis won his match in convincing fashion, nearly getting a pin in the third period before ultimately winning 11-2. Cochran managed to shut out his opponent thanks to a plethora of riding time.
Monday's dual was the first since several young Terrapins competed at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial Open on Saturday, Nov. 20. Six Terps placed at their weights with two,
Braxton Brown and
Jaxon Smith, reaching the finals.
