Maryland will return to game action in College Park 16 months to the day from its last home game. Maryland defeated Purdue 2-1 at Ludwig Field on October 20, 2019 that day on goals from Loren Sefcik and Mikayla Dayes.

Redshirt junior Alyssa Poarch, senior Malikae Dayes and senior Mikayla Dayes were all named players to watch by the Big Ten in a release made by the conference this week.  

Maryland is 2-1-2 all-time vs. Michigan State since the series began during Maryland's first season in Big Ten in 2014. Maryland's 1-0 win over the Spartans in 2019 was a memorable one, as Loren Sefcik's lone goal clinched UMD's first-ever Big Ten Tournament berth. 

Ray Leone in his fifth season at the helm for Maryland, a season removed from leading Maryland to its best-ever finish in the B1G. UMD finished 9-8-3 in 2019 and earned a trip to the school's first-ever Big Ten Tournament. The Terps went 5-5-1 in league play to finish sixth in the conference, the highest for a Maryland team.

The Terps return all 10 of their goal scorers from 2019, including Alyssa Poarch, who bagged eight goals and had three assists for Maryland. Mikayla Dayes (5) and Loren Sefcik (3) are also back, while Hope Lewandoski and Adalee Broadbent each recorded two goals during the 2019 campaign.
