Terps Take on Michigan, Iowa this Week

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The Maryland women's soccer team will complete its five-game regular season home stand this week when the Terrapins host Michigan and Iowa for a pair of games at Ludwig Field.

The Terps will first take on the Wolverines on Thursday, March 18 at 3 p.m. before battling Iowa on Sunday, March 21 a 2 p.m. in a game that will air live on Big Ten Network.

 THIS WEEK'S STORYLINES

Terps Hang Tough with #17 Rutgers  
  • Maryland played to a scoreless draw with one of the top teams in the country last weekend, drawing Rutgers 0-0 in College Park. It was just the second game the 17th-ranked Scarlet Knights have been held without a goal this season.

STAIER SHiNES
  • Senior Sydney Staier put together one of her most productive weeks as a Terrapin a few weeks back, scoring her first goal of her career against Ohio State on March 4. She followed it up with an assist to tie the game at one vs. Indiana on March 7.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Maryland is 0-6 all-time against Michigan, dropping both contests when the teams last met during the 2019 season.

  • The Terps are 2-3 all-time against Iowa. The last time Maryland and Iowa met in College Park, the Terps scored four second half goals en route to a 4-0 victory over the Hawkeyes on September 14, 2018.

LEONE LADING THE TERPS
  • Ray Leone in his fifth season at the helm for Maryland, a season removed from leading Maryland to its best-ever finish in the B1G. UMD finished 9-8-3 in 2019 and earned a trip to the school's first-ever Big Ten Tournament. The Terps went 5-5-1 in league play to finish sixth in the conference, the highest for a Maryland team.
