#3 Maryland Hosts #19 Penn State on Senior Day

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The third-ranked Maryland men's lacrosse team (6-0) will return home for a rematch with #19 Penn State (2-4) at Maryland Stadium on Saturday, April 3. The Terrapins defeated #5 Rutgers 13-9 its last time out on March 28.

Maryland will honor its 16 seniors in a pregame ceremony prior to faceoff. The game is slated for a 1 p.m. start and will be broadcast on BTN Plus and the Maryland Sports Radio Network.

BERNHARDT ON THE CUSP OF HISTORY
  • Jared Bernhardt is now just two goals away from breaking Matt Rambo's all-time goals record at Maryland. With 154 career goals, Bernhardt is just one goal away from tying Rambo's record.

TOPS IN THE COUNTRY
  • Maryland ranks inside the top-5 nationally in a host of statistical categories including assists per game (1st – 10.67), points per game (2nd – 27.17), shot percentage (2nd – 39.9%), turnovers per game (3rd – 12.83) and scoring offense (16.50). Maryland is the only team nationwide to rank in the top-5 in shooting percentage, fewest turnovers and scoring offense.

SERIES HISTORY
  • Maryland is 37-1 all-time against Penn State since the series between the two schools began in 1924. The Terps are 7-1 against PSU since the start of Big Ten play in 2015. Penn State won its first game in the series 13-10 when the teams last met in College Park back in 2019. Maryland won 13-7 when the teams met earlier this season on February 26.

  • Maryland has put together seven different runs of six or more goals this season, and at least one 6+ goal run in every single game. The Terps longest scoring run came against Johns Hopkins, totaling 11 straight goals between the 2nd and 4th quarter in an 18-10 victory.

10 IS THE MAGIC NUMBER UNDER TILLMAN
  • Maryland has now won 29 consecutive games when allowing an opponent under 10 goals dating back to the 2017 National Championship season. The Terps held Rutgers to a season-low 9 goals last week and Penn State to a season-low 7 goals when the teams met earlier this season back on February 26.
