COLLEGE PARK, MD -- The Maryland women's tennis team will open its season this Saturday, January 22 against two local foes. The Terps will face the Georgetown Hoyas at noon, followed by Coppin State at 5 p.m. Both matches will begin with a round of doubles, followed by a round of singles. The live stats can be found

Last spring the Terps finished strong in the Big Ten tournament, ending with a 2-1 record taking victories over Rutgers and fifth-seed Nebraska to reach the quarterfinals; the furthest Maryland had advanced in several seasons.
Head coach
Katie Dougherty will be entering her third season, with new assistant coach,
Ruth Seaborne, making her Terrapin debut. The Terps have two returning players in senior
Vera Markovic and sophomore
Minorka Miranda. A few new faces will join the Terps this year in freshmen
Mary Brumfield,
Francesca Feodorov and
Kallista Liu.
Selma Cadar,
Jojo Bach and
Marta Perez Mur will also make their Maryland debuts.
